New Zealand Fashion Week 2014

Last week my fabulous friend Angela Stone very kindly invited me as her ‘plus one’ to the opening of New Zealand fashion week queue major excitement and grinning for days…

The opening party is limited to VIP guests, Designers, NZFW Partners selected Delegates and Media. Seeing I was none of those, I was feeling pretty lucky!

Then, the OMG what do I wear moment hit…

Imagine mad searching on Asos, Net-a-porter and a quick sprint around Britomart (Not to mention my rage at the $40 express postage fee for ASOS Gaah!!)

Now I massively hate myself for exercising self-control on the Ginger Fizz co-ord I was lusting after last week!

Still in love……

This co-ord can be found here:

After gathering my thoughts I remembered my wonderful mother could whip me up something! (No pressure Ma!)

Thankfully she had already been busy beavering away over the past week making me some new threads!
I love having unique items that fit me perfect!
Plus it would be a total travesty to rock up to the opening of NZFW matching someone else! (Very likely to happen in Auckland just BTW!)

So, outfit sorted.

Thankfully I was able to get an appointment at Dry and Tea to get my hair looking all fab, they are one of the only places in Auckland that offers the wash and blow dry service as a speciality and its only $45bucks on Wednesday’s! Bargain!

Plus they give you delicious tea and mini cupcakes! …..nomnomnom.

Then Ta-da! Volume!

Love a good blow-dry!

My face needed some serious work though, so luckily one of the talented make-up artists from Mac in Britomart was able to make me look presentable!

So after being suitably groomed within an inch of my life, I meet up with Angela.

Angela was wearing a jumpsuit from Kookai, which can be found here:
Gina Jumpsuit – Kookai and the Black Satin Cape from her own collection Angela Stone, Satin Cape .

Angela’s beautiful wine collection was at NZFW.

My favourite is the chardonnay…

So sipping away on our delicious Angela Stone wine we mingled with the NZ fashion world, ate delicious canapés and stared at models…part of the NZFW exhibition ….as you do….

So this is the top Ma and I designed, I am so in love with peplum tops.

The fabric is laser cut with a metallic sheen on it.

I think it looks great with black skinny trousers, but to glam it up a bit I wore it with this new season country road skirt, which I am a little bit obsessed with…

(I also thought it was a steal at $109!)

My bag is Mulberry Autumn 2011, I’m not sure you can buy them anymore as it was the Limited Edition Fantastic Mr Fox Collection in the Lily Style. Mulberry Lily Bags

And my shoes are Mi Piachi – you may remember these from Summer…
Originally they came in and sold out within the country in a matter of weeks, but they have just released them again. (Yay!) Mipiaci Rio Shoe

I do love a monochrome look.

After a few wines we continued to mingle and meet some fabulous people….

This is Steve Dunston, Director of Huffer.

Had a nice chat with Dan Gosling of Stolen Girlfriends Club, was so guttered I couldn’t attend the show at Western Springs on Tuesday eve, it looked amazing!

Dame Trelise Cooper was looking absolutely stunning.
And her collection of Valentino Rockstuds appears to be growing!

She was sporting a beautiful pair of animal print ones on Monday.
Check these delights out….Valentino Rock stud Leopard Pumps

If I had a serious budget I would be getting these ones for summer …

Then we headed up to the bar for a few more drinks, such lovely views of Auckland viaduct.

Then after midnight we caught our cabs home, it was a Monday after all….
Such a fun event and was so happy to feel like a proper insider for the night!
